We drove a lot last weekend. A lot seems like even more when a baby is along for the ride. We’re getting ready to travel again soon and I’m exhausted. It’s funny how being a little low-energy can make a mommy feel more stress that she would otherwise.
I was feeling pressed for time, especially. But, being a mommy, the time schedule is not necessarily the one I would choose.
So what did I do once my baby fell asleep?
The message I got was simple: “Focus inward first. Make your own body feel appreciated and loved. Later you can focus on how to heal the world. Just know that through focusing on self-love, you are healing the world.”
Wow! It’s not like that’s a new concept to me. But it’s a profound one, and one that I too often ignore.
The meditation was refreshing. Spending a few more minutes to send love and gratitude to my body felt good. Knowing it is that easy to live my purpose is truly amazing.
So what about the laundry and errands that need to be done in preparation for our next long drive? It will all get done. And, it will get done faster, more efficiently, and more enjoyably now that I have taken the time to center myself.
It’s funny how easy the hard stuff can be, if we let it!
